Began on Maico and CZ moto-cross bikes riding the rugged terrain of Northeast Pennsylvania. See: anthracite coal mining. It was a moto-cross playground for a 14-year old made up of musty, iron rich clay trails and sweet, sulfur smelling black sand and shale piles. Learned how to ride, race, push when they broke, and fix bikes with bailing wire and a Buck knife. Skied a lot when it snowed - then and now.

At eighteen, I purchased a 1974 BMW R-75/6, I still ride and occasionally tour on. Toured, camped, slept in the mud, carried fire wood, cases of beer, pizza, injured riders in a timeless BMW spirit. The "Blue Mule" as she is fondly called. The 1963 BMW R69S I fully restored resides among the New York Film Academy vintage collection of BMWs.
